The city council of Chigirin supported the appeal to ban the UOC

On November 15, 2022, the deputies of the Chigirin City Council in the Cherkasy region at the regular session supported the appeal to the President of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada with a request to adopt a law to ban the UOC. This was reported on the website of the Chigirin territorial community.

The initiator of the appeal was the deputy of the City Council Yuriy Polishchuk.

According to the deputies of the Chigirin City Council, this law should also allow “to impose sanctions on the primates and arrest the accounts of structural divisions and organizations, and direct the funds to the restoration of Ukraine.”

The deputies also demand to ensure the immediate registration of documents of religious communities that have “passed over” to the OCU, and to immediately suspend the use of historical and architectural monuments by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
