On November 4, 2022, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine met with the head of the charitable foundation, Protodeacon Vadim Novinsky, and discussed with him ways of providing assistance to Ukrainian migrants who are in Germany. This is reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.
The meeting was also attended by the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC, Metropolitan of Chernivtsi and Bukovina Meletiy, the head of the UOC, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, the abbot of the Ascension Banchensky Monastery of the Chernivtsi diocese, Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny, and Archbishop Veniamin of Khotyn.
“In times of severe trials, the Church has never forgotten its social role. Today we discussed the possibility of providing social and humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Germany. At the moment, about a million citizens of Ukraine live here, and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church cannot leave their problems without attention,” commented Protodeacon Vadim Novinsky on this meeting.
