Greek Catholic priest Yuriy Boyko criticized the words of the Catholic Archbishop of Lviv Mechislav Mokshitsky that the UOC is the Church of the people.

In his opinion, Archbishop Mechislav, who declares that the UOC is the Church of the people, “manipulates the truth, which cannot be unknown to him, namely, that many hierarchs and clergy of the UOC have consciously cooperated with the Russian occupiers”, about which,  according to Boyko, “at least the recent searches of high-ranking hierarchs of the UOC testify.”

In addition, Boyko noted that “one gets the impression that the archbishop does not want to acknowledge not only the fact of the numerical transition of communities from the UOC to the OCU, but also the fact and weight of the OCU itself.”
