On November 2, 2022, at a meeting of the Permanent Commission on Education, Religion, Culture, Youth and Sports of the Vinnytsia Regional Council, the deputies considered an appeal to the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers with a proposal to ban the activities of the UOC in the country. This was reported on the official page of the regional council on Facebook.
The commission met under the chairmanship of Igor Ivasyuk, deputy head of the Vinnitsa Regional Council.
The report says that such a decision was made “in order to avoid real and potential risks of a threat to the national security of Ukraine.”
The draft decision on the appeal will be considered at the next meeting of the regional council.
