French President Emmanuel Macron said that the Russian Orthodox Church allows the country’s authorities to manipulate themselves to justify the war in Ukraine. The Voice of America informs about this, reports the Commander-in-Chief.

“Religious leaders also play a role of resistance when faced with the recklessness of these events,” Macron said, referring to Russia’s war against Ukraine. – We know very well how the Orthodox religion is being manipulated by those in power in Russia today to justify their actions. Resistance is needed here,” the French president said.

Macron recalled that resistance means “never making excuses, never falling into a trap, never supporting political projects aimed at denying the dignity of every person.”
