Metropolitan Arseniy: War reveals both meanness and virtue

On October 20, a humanitarian convoy from the Odessa diocese arrived at the Svyatogorsk Lavra, accompanied by Archbishop Victor of Artsyz. This is reported by the Telegram channel of the Svyatogorsk Lavra.

The Bishop Arseniy expressed gratitude to Metropolitan Agafangel and everyone who took part in the collection and delivery of humanitarian aid to caring people.

“I want to thank you both on my own behalf and on behalf of our Hieroarchimandrite, Metropolitan Hilarion of Donetsk and Mariupol. He rejoices at any help that is delivered to the Lavra, because for him the Svyatogorsk monastery was and remains a special holy place. We are his Svyatogorsk children (as we call ourselves). And I know that Bishop Hilarion and Bishop Agafangel had good relations for many years. We also have special reverence for Bishop Agafangel. We feel his love for us and now we see its special manifestation in the form of this delivered help,” said Metropolitan Arseniy.

According to the viceroy, war reveals in every person what is in him – good or bad. “It discovers virtues in someone – they become visible to everyone. And someone has unkind traits, even meanness, as if the veil is being removed from it, ”said Metropolitan Arseniy.
