On October 21, 2022, Metropolitan Varsonofy of Vinnitsa and Bar spoke about how, after the start of the war, Ukrainian priests tried to talk to the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church, but they did not hear them.  The hierarch spoke about this in an interview with the Pershiy kozats’kiy.

According to Metropolitan Varsonofy, he did not personally communicate with representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, but his assistants called the Russian Federation.  “But, unfortunately, they didn’t hear us,” the Bishop stated, adding that “many different fakes” interfere with communication.
