On October 10, during a personal meeting with Pope Francis, Montenegrin Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic suggested organizing a possible meeting of the pope with Patriarch Kirill in his country, writes CNA.
“We are a tiny and peaceful country with no political pretensions. We do not have a large economy that would compete with others. We are an Orthodox country, but we are full of the spirit of dialogue. We can be a country where the pope can organize important meetings with other world religious leaders,” Abazovich said.
The politician also added that when meeting with the pontiff, he hinted to the latter that he could organize the meeting.
