President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky sent a letter of greeting on the occasion of the opening of the 23rd Council of the UOC-USA.  This was reported on the UOC-USA Facebook Facebook page.

Addressing the participants of the Council, Zelensky noted that the UOC in the United States over more than 100 years of its existence has become significant for “the entire world Ukrainians.”

“We are grateful to the UOC of the USA, in particular, for the special role in the formation of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.  Noting the sacrificial service of the hierarchs, priests and believers of the UOC-USA, which cherishes Ukrainian traditions, historical and cultural heritage, we highly appreciate the assistance to the Ukrainian state since the beginning of full-scale Russian aggression,” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky wrote in a letter.
