Head of the Estonian Church: I do not share the words of the Patriarch about the forgiveness of sins to soldiers

On October 12, 2022, Metropolitan Eugene of Tallinn and All Estonia sent a response to the letter received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to Minister of the Interior Lauri Läänemets and Minister of Justice Lea Danilson-Jarg, in which he expressed disagreement with the point of view of Patriarch Kirill, who justifies the military activities of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.  The text of the response letter was published on the official website of the Estonian Orthodox Church.

“I inform you that I do not share the words of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, delivered by him in a sermon on September 25, 2022, about the remission of all sins to servicemen who died in the line of military duty,” the response of the Primate of the EOC says.
