“Metropolitan” Epifaniy: Churches of the Odessa region almost never go to the OCU

On October 12, 2022, in an interview with Suspilny, the head of the OCU, Epifaniy, stated that in the Odessa region “several communities have joined the OCU.”

“Unfortunately, in the South and in the East, this process is not so intense, but the community is constantly determined, because, according to Ukrainian legislation, each religious community has the right to change its jurisdiction.  We want this process to take place peacefully, calmly and voluntarily, and this is how it is happening”, – the “metropolitan” said.

According to Epifaniy, in the Odessa region “this process is slower, the region is now” in a state of spiritual sleep.

“There are several, but these are very few communities”, – said the head of the OCU.  “Well, for some reason, this region is still in a state of waiting.”
