On September 8, 2022, the head of the Church of Alexandria, Patriarch Theodore, opened his third visit to Madagascar, Romfea reports.
The Patriarch was met at the airport by Honorary Consul of Greece and Cyprus in Madagascar Panagiotis Taloumis, Egyptian Ambassador to Madagascar Usama Khalil, as well as diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs representing the President of the Republic of Madagascar Andry Rajoelina, as well as Metropolitan of Antananarivo and Northern Madagascar Ignatius, Bishop of Toliara and South Madagascar Prodromos.
The Patriarch expressed his joy at the fact that seven years after the previous visit he arrived on the island.
He also called on the clergy and parishioners to remain part of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
