The Cherkasy Regional Council failed the appeal to the President of Ukraine on “banning the activities of the UOC-MP”, ” procherk” reports.

On September 9, 2022, at a session of the regional council, the deputies by a majority failed to vote on a draft appeal to the President and Parliament to religious communities and residents of the region regarding the “prohibition of anti-state anti-Ukrainian activities of religious organizations”, which was introduced by member of Council Vadym Gayovych.

Moreover, when Gayovych made an appeal, the chairman of the regional council at first did not want to put it to a vote, and deputy Alexander Velbivets was indignant and called this appeal political.

The required number of votes was not collected.
