On September 7, 2022, the Dormition St. Nicholas and Basil Monastery in the village of Mykilske, Volnovakha District, Donetsk Diocese of the UOC, again suffered from shelling, Patriarchia reports.
Not a single building remained intact in the monastery; the Dormition Cathedral of the monastery was seriously damaged. There are dead among the monks and nuns, as well as among the refugees who took refuge in the monastery.
Now 78 people stay there.
On September 7, the monastery was shelled twice – in the morning and in the evening. There are new destructions in the monastery, the chapel and the fraternal building suffered. A worker was wounded, whose hand was torn off by a shrapnel. One of the shells destroyed the generator.
