“I don’t know about the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine, there is the UOC,” – Minister of Culture of Ukraine

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy expects the UOC to finalize its amended statute, writes df.news.

“I don’t know the representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine, there is a Ukrainian Orthodox Church that separated from the Russian Orthodox Church at the last synod. We are looking forward to the final version of their amended charter, so that we can responsibly say to what extent these ties are severed,” Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko said on the air of the national telethon on Monday afternoon.

He also noted that the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience also did not receive the updated version of the UOC statute.

In addition, the minister noted that the authorities have a number of questions regarding the activities of some representatives of the UOC.

“Our discussion with fellow MPs can contribute to the fact that the discussion of this issue will be moved to a more serious level,” Tkachenko says.
