In Khmelnitsky, the authorities want to terminate the right to use the land of the religious community of the UOC on the basis of their appeal to the Verkhovna Rada

Khmelnitsky city council wants to terminate the right to permanent use of land to the religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia on the basis of its appeal to the National Security and Defense Council and the Verkhovna Rada regarding the acceleration of consideration of a bill to ban the activities of churches and other religious organizations that are subject to the patriarchy “. This is evidenced by the draft decision of the city council dated August 26, XM-Inside reports.

We are talking about two hectares of land, which is on Panas Mirny Street, 16/1 A, in the Ozernaya microdistrict. This site, by the decision of the session of the Khmelnitsky city council in 2012, was granted to the religious community of the UOC for permanent use for the construction of a temple, spiritual and educational buildings, a parish house, outbuildings and a park. Construction work is underway here.

“The reason for the termination of the right to use the site in the project is the decision of the extraordinary session of the Khmelnytsky city council of June 17 (on an appeal to the National Security and Defense Council and the Verkhovna Rada regarding the acceleration of the consideration of a bill to ban the activities of churches and other religious organizations subordinate to the Moscow Patriarchate),” the site writes.
