Procession to the Pochaev Lavra left Kamianets-Podilskyi

The procession to the Assumption Pochaev Lavra left Kamenetz-Podolsk, Khmelnytsky region, on August 19, 2022, on the day of the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. A video recording of the beginning of a multi-day prayer procession was published on the Facebook page “Kamyanets-Podilsky. 1kp – The first portal of the city, “Pravlife” writes.

Hundreds of people take part in the procession. Believers carry icons of the Most Holy Theotokos and saints of God, offer prayers and church hymns. The column of crusaders is accompanied by law enforcement officers.

Recall that this year, due to the martial law in the country, the Kamyanets-Podilskyi diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church did not take responsibility for holding the Assumption procession to Pochaiv. “The decision to participate in the procession or refuse it is a matter of conscience for Christians and their personal responsibility,” the diocese said.

The Vinnitsa diocese of the UOC also refused to organize a traditional religious procession to the Pochaev Lavra.
