On August 18, representatives of the Volyn Regional Department of Culture were urgently sent to the village of Dorotishche to inspect the state of the Assumption Church, which was transferred to the local community of the UOC by a security agreement, writes in the Vladimir-Volyn diocese.
By a “strange coincidence”, together with the regional commission, four clerics of the OCU and a dozen local supporters of the OCU, who were aggressive, arrived at the church.
Rector Archpriest Igor Kostyuchik and the community of the temple call the police squad.
The Kovel police department responded professionally to the situation. The deputy head of the police department, under personal responsibility to prevent the seizure of the temple, insisted that only representatives of the commission from the authorities could enter the church. All others present during the inspection were forced to leave the churchyard.
Employees of Volynsky and the department of culture of Kovel were pleasantly surprised by the departure of the UOC community for the ancient temple and its condition. All accusations turned out to be far-fetched and useless.
