On August 8, 2022, a court hearing was held in the case of the writer Jan Taksyur, at which the court was supposed to satisfy the petition to change the preventive measure from detention to house arrest, the UOJ writes.

“Unfortunately, this did not happen, although the oncological diagnosis was confirmed. We have all the documents, fresh results of analyzes and examinations,” said Jan Taksyur’s daughter Mariko on her Facebook page.

She says, the court set the amount of bail in the amount of 1,240,000 hryvnia, and the lawyer called this outcome “not the worst”.

The writer was kept in custody until 6 October. “Let’s really hope that we will be able to raise such a sum,” said Mariko, thanking everyone who takes part in the fate of her father.

Yan Taksyur has been in a pre-trial detention center since March 10, 2022 on charges of treason.
