In New York, the temple of the National Shrine at Ground Zero was consecrated

On July 4, 2022, the consecration of the Church of Saint Nicholas and the National Shrine at Ground Zero in New York took place, 21 years after the September 11 terrorist attacks that destroyed the Orthodox Church at the World Trade Center.

The service was led by the head of the Phanar American Archdiocese, Archbishop Elpidophoros (Lambriniadis), co-served by Metropolitan Emmanuel (Adamakis) of Chalcedon and bishops of the Church of Constantinople.

The day before, July 3, 2022, Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon led a divine service in New York.
