In Cherkassy, the city council banned the activities of the UOC

The Cherkasy City Council voted to ban the activities of the UOC in the city, Ukrinform reports.

Some deputies reportedly argued that local governments did not have the power to ban church activity. The rest insisted on supporting the petition. As a result, the deputies decided to ban.

Earlier, Cherkassy Mayor Anatoly Bondarenko argued that the city should not make decisions that are within the competence of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
