The OCU cleric fined and deprived of driving license for a year for drunk driving

The Lutsk town district court of the Volyn region fined 17 thousand UAH and deprived of the right to drive a motor vehicle for one year, the rector of the monastery of the Twelve Apostles of the Volodymyr-Volynsky diocese of the OCU Taras Khanas, Bug reports.

On April 11, 2022 after 23:00 patrolmen of the National Police in the town of Lutsk detained a priest drunk at the wheel, who refused to take a test for alcohol intoxication on the spot and did not go to the drug dispensary, and also did not sign the protocol.

The press service of the patrol police of the Volyn region confirmed that there was such a case. The man was driving during curfew. He refused to take a drug test.

Administrative material was filed against him under Article 130 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Driving while intoxicated). The black BMW520 was delivered to a special site, which was immediately returned to the owner in the morning.

On June 22, 2022, Judge Andriy Oleksiuk ruled in administrative case No. 161/4711/22 against Taras S. Khanas, finding the drunkard monk guilty.

The hero of the day never appeared in court.
