“I was surprised, but there was no damage and no one died,” the mayor of Lviv about the fire in the temple of the UOC

The site on which the Church of the UOC St. Prince Vladimir Equal-to-the-Apostles is located in the Sykhiv district of Lviv has been allocated for the Church of the OCU, and the wooden church of the UOC is a temporary structure. “I myself was very surprised, because nothing was damaged and no one died.” So, the mayor of Lvov Andrey Sadovoy commented on the fire in the temple of the UOC.

“The site on which this temple is located is allocated for the OCU church and there really is a beautiful temple. There is also a temporary building of the UOC-MP, to which constant attention is riveted. <…>

I myself was very surprised, because nothing was damaged and no one died, and the whole city is talking about it,” the mayor said.

He also said that the relevant authorities will determine what caused the arson, but, according to him, it is preliminary an internal fire – possibly electrical parts or wiring.
