Two criminal cases initiated on the fact of attempt to seize the temple in Fastiv in the Kyiv region – human rights activist

On June 2, 2022, on the feast of the Ascension of the Lord, in Fastov, Kyiv region, where the rector of the Intercession Church of the UOC was beaten, the religious community managed to defend their shrine from the raiders from the OCU. A lawyer, an assistant to a deputy of the Kamyanets-Podilskyi City Council and human rights activist Victoria Kokhanovskaya wrote on her Facebook page that the police opened two criminal cases on the fact of an attempt to seize the church, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

“Remember, where there was a struggle, the locks were cut off, and the father was hit, that he fell and lost consciousness from the blow, and this is all in the presence of police officers. To date, two criminal proceedings have been opened, and prayers are being heard near the temple of the UOC,” the human rights activist wrote.

V. Kokhanovskaya stressed that everyone who violates the legislation of Ukraine will be punished.
