On June 6, 2022, in the city of Tarashcha, Kyiv region, supporters of the OCU, led by “priest” Yuriy Salnik, came to the Peter and Paul Church of the UOC and threatened the rector, Archpriest Sergei Kozyuk, and insulted the believers. This was reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

While the parishioners prayed and read akathists near their church, OCU supporters outside its gates sang the anthem of Ukraine, “Red Kalina”, shouted “Death to the enemies!” and insults to the believers of the UOC.

OCU cleric Yuri Salnik said that three days later, after receiving the “decision”, the crowd has the right to enter the territory of the temple and cut off the castle with a grinder and enter the church. “We are normal people,” he added. Subsequently, one of the worshipers of the OCU from behind the gates promised the abbot that “he would be personally burned.”

As the publication clarified, the Peter and Paul Society of the UOC was officially registered in October 2002 by order of the Kyiv Regional State Administration. And in 2019, Yuri Salnik claimed his rights to the Peter and Paul Church and officially registered the charter of the “Peter and Paul community”, and now Dumenko’s fans claim that this temple has been theirs for 17 years.
