A new church was consecrated in the Western European Archdiocese of the Russian Orthodox Church

On May 22, 2022, in the Western European Archdiocese of Orthodox parishes of the Russian tradition of the Russian Orthodox Church, a new church was consecrated for the St. Nicholas community in Saint-André-les-Vergers in the commune of Troyes. This is reported by orthodoxie.

With the blessing of Metropolitan John of Dubna (Renneto), the consecration was led by Vicar Bishop of Reutov Élisée (Germain), co-served by the clergy of the Archdiocese.

It is also noted that the Catholic diocese provided the premises of the 18th century to the Orthodox parish on the terms of an emphytheus lease for a period of 99 years. The building was restored as part of a project worth more than 250 thousand euros, which lasted almost 10 years, taking into account the traditions of local architecture. The interior is decorated in accordance with the Russian Orthodox tradition, the iconostasis and the royal doors are in the process of being completed.
