The prohibition of the UOC-MP in certain communities is a declarative decision. But if the state bans the activities of the UOC – and it can – this will lead to resistance and a religious war. This was stated by “CBN” “bishop” Kropivnitsky and Golovanovsky Mark (OCU).
“The UOC-MP ban on individual communities is rather a reaction of society to certain things that the Russian church does, but it’s hard for me to say how effective this is. What mechanisms do they have for this? This is more of a declarative decision, I think so,” he notes.
The state could deprive churches of certain benefits or preferences that do not have religious organizations. The state may also ban the activities of the UOC, the “bishop” believes, but this may lead to resistance and religious war.
