On May 22, 2022, services were resumed in the Assumption Church in the village of Mikhailovka, Khmelnytsky Region, which had previously been illegally sealed. The day before, human rights activist Victoria Kokhanovskaya tore illegal seals from the door of the church. She published a video report of her actions on her Facebook page, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.
The next day, the lawyer published a video from the temple where the service was held and wrote: “The temple from which yesterday I tore off stickers from the doors, the so-called patriots. The rule of law and the legislation of Ukraine! On our own behalf, we thank the law enforcement agencies that duly performed their duties to ensure the protection of public order.”
In a published video message, the parishioners of the temple reported that their rector Father Andrey blessed from the first day of the war to pray daily for peace and Ukrainian soldiers, whose names were submitted to the temple by all residents of Mikhailovka, the surrounding villages and Khmelnitsky. There are about 500 names on the list. The believers said that many of their relatives and friends are fighting at the front.
