Scientist Volodymyr Sushchenko believes that the ban on the UOC does not contradict the Constitution of Ukraine and is even “completely consistent with the UN Charter.” He wrote about this in the “Legal opinion on the possibility of a legal ban or termination of the activities of the ROC and UOC in Ukraine”, which is published by RISU.

“The conclusion regarding the analysis of the relevant provisions of the Constitution and laws of Ukraine in terms of the activities of the UOC (MP / ROC) is that their content and spirit indisputably testify that the state of Ukraine, being in a state of war, in my opinion, has the right to exercise all the powers necessary to stop during the war the activities of the Synod of the UOC as a governing body of a religious association of citizens of Ukraine and / or prohibit the activities of the ROC in Ukraine, which is fully consistent with the Charter and international legal acts of the UN, the founder and full member of which is Ukraine,” writes scientist.
