The page “For the Ukrainian Church” close to the UOC-KP reports that the OCU is talking about changing the leader.
“Epiphany finally lost the remnant of authority among the episcopate. Firstly, by the fact that at the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war he escaped from his throne and hid away from Kyiv for almost ten days. Secondly, during these almost a month and a half, he self-isolated, being not interested in the life of the Church. He does not even call the bishops and does not ask how life is on the places in these tragic days? And thirdly, it finally became clear to everyone that under the leadership of the Epiphany-Yevstratiy tandem, the OCU found itself in a dead end. The church is simply deteriorating.
“Let us add that in besieged Chernihiv, the collection of signatures for depriving Yevstratiy Zorya of the bishopric has already started. He has not visited his cathedra for a single day during the war and left believers to the mercy of fate. As we were told, a significant part of the hierarchs of the OCU are inclined again to put an experienced administrator, Metropolitan of Lutsk and Volyn Mikhail Zinkevych, at the head of the leadership of the OCU. As one of the signs of this process is even the appearance of hagiographic books dedicated to the life of lord Michael,” the message says.
