The UOC monastery in the Kiev region suffered from shelling

On March 28, 2022, as a result of hostilities on the territory of the Buchansky district of the Kiev region, the convent in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “The Hearer” was destroyed. This is reported by the website of the Kiev diocese.

Several shells hit the territory of the holy monastery. The bell tower and the monastic building were destroyed. The clergymen of the monastery, miraculously surviving, managed to get out from under the rubble. Some of them were seriously injured.

Inside, the building of the monastic building was completely burned out, along with the cells located in it, the refectory, the kitchen, other utility rooms and all the property located in them.

The only church in the world in honor of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “The Hearer”, in which this miraculous image is kept, survived, although window panes were broken in it.

The founder of the monastery, Bishop Kirill of Byshevsky, vicar of the Kiev Metropolis, who was on the territory of the monastery during the shelling, thanks God for saving human lives and asks everyone for prayers for the recovery of the wounded Hierodeacon Paisios and God’s help to the sisters of the monastery and all those affected by the shelling.
