The Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church refutes fake publications on the Internet and in the media, which talk about the alleged refusal of the monastery to accept refugees from war zones. As they said in the Lavra with reference to the viceroy of Metropolitan Vladimir of Pochaev, more than 500 migrants have already been accommodated here and now there is simply no place, writes the UOJ.

As evidence, the Lavra publishes a photo of the parking lot, which is completely filled with cars of people who came from war-torn cities. In addition to placing refugees directly in the Lavra, they are received by the spiritual children of the monastery in their homes. There are places where up to 18 people live in one house.

The Lavra thanks the local authorities, who reassure especially “hot heads”, explaining to them that the monastery helps refugees and supports the Ukrainian army.
