On March 8, 2022, a group of armed men climbed to a height of 1534 m in the Carpathians (Verkhovyna district, Ivano-Frankivsk region). In the same place, 8 hours of walking along the snow-capped peaks, there is the Holy Trinity Monastery of the UOC.
The abbot of the monastery, Father Tit and novice Trofim, were abducted. Since that time, they have not contacted. According to local residents, they were forcibly taken to Verkhovyna and interrogated. Nothing further is known about their fate.
