Zaporozhye diocese of the UOC helped Orthodox brothers in Tanzania

On February 16, 2022, Metropolitan Luka (Kovalenko) of Zaporozhye and Melitopol handed over to Orthodox priests carrying out their pastoral deed in Tanzania church utensils and vestments donated by the clergy of the Zaporizhzhya diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

This was announced in Telegram by the representative of the diocese, Father Gennady Yelin.

Vladyka Luke delivered help to Orthodox clergy brothers, clerics of the African Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church. The hierarch of the UOC handed over Church utensils and vestments, with a total weight of 64 kilograms – what is allowed by the baggage rules.

These are Eucharistic vessels, liturgical vestments, icons, 20 meters of coarse calico for women’s scarves – something that could be delivered on their own.

Metropolitan Leonid of Klin, Patriarchal Exarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa, thanked the diocese of the UOC for supporting the Tanzanian Orthodox.
