Greek Old Calendarists were offended by Epiphany Dumenko

The resource “For the Ukrainian Church”, close to the UOC-KP, published an open letter from the representative of the Greek Old Calendarist Church, Archimandrite Chrysostomos, to the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko.

The letter refers to the decision of the Synod of the OCU, where “the Greek metropolitans of the UOC-KP Avxentius and Chrysostomos were brazenly called followers of the old calendar schism in Greece.”

“For reasons unknown to us, the Primate of the newly formed Ukrainian Church – the OCU-SCU, with Luciferian fury, turned against the Greek Orthodox world, which adheres to the old church calendar,” the letter says, in which the author expresses “mourning over the humiliating statement about parishes adhering to the old calendar.”

“You have probably forgotten the period when His Beatitude Metropolitan Chrysostom (Bakomitros) received you in his house in Athens, where you lived free of charge for more than a year. Or the fact that you visited the house of the current Exarch and Metropolitan Avxentius (Marines), where instead of coffee you asked for a pear… We remember how we fulfilled this whim. Then you showed respect for Metropolitan Avxentius, while still like little Sergiy, a young and teenage layman… And now, unexpectedly, as the Primate of the newly formed Church, you, acting through the members of its Holy Synod, are inciting ecclesiastical repressions against our brothers and sisters, maliciously wishing to damage our reputation in the Greek Church, as well as the Ukrainian Orthodox clergy,” recalled the author of the letter to Epiphany Dumenko.

“We are outraged by the threatening arrogance and insulting tone, which is a consequence of your alleged youth and leads both to the theft of the property of other Orthodox religious organizations, and to the goal of inciting your entourage to internal squabbles, and now you are trying to do this precisely between the Greeks and in our Patriarchy. You are a very young hierarch, so you must learn to restrain your unbridled “jealousy” and arrogance and learn with humility from more mature and experienced rulers,” said the representative of the Old Calendar Church of Greece.
