On February 12, 2022, Archimandrite Kirill (Hovorun), a supernumerary cleric of the Russian Orthodox Church, announced that Patriarch John of Antioch agreed to participate in the upcoming meeting of the primates of the Churches of the Pentarchy.
Hovorun wrote about this in his Telegram.
“So, the council of the primates of the ancient churches will take place even before the Holy Week. Today, the Patriarch of Antioch, the most difficult for this enterprise, gave the go-ahead for it. I want to emphasize that the messages are not about synaxis, that is, an advisory body, but about synodos, that is, a body that can make decisions, including knitting and deciding,” writes the cleric.
As previously reported, the “Court of the Pentarchy” is required to be assembled regarding the entry of the ROC to the African continent.
