On February 10, the Ivano-Frankivsk city council decided to destroy by dismantling the temple, which was taken away in the parish of the UOC in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord, contrary to the decision of the UN Human Rights Committee, writes RP.
On February 4, in the afternoon, the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese received a notice of forced eviction, which was scheduled for the morning of February 7. The civil service did not take into account the application to postpone the eviction due to excessively short deadlines, although the law provides for the possibility of such a postponement of up to 10 days.
When asked by journalists why the decision to dismantle was made so urgently – just a few days after the eviction – the director of the Department of Education and Science, Igor Maksimchuk, said: “I would not say that it is fast. On the contrary, it may be too late.”
