The consequences of the split in Ukraine were discussed in the Russian Orthodox Church with the Consul General of Cyprus

The impact of the Ukrainian church schism on the state of affairs in world Orthodoxy was discussed with the Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in St. Petersburg, Kyriakos Poyajis, Metropolitan Varsonofy of St. Petersburg and Ladoga. The meeting took place in the diocesan administration on February 4, 2022, Pravlife writes.

“The conversation concerned the general church situation in the world in connection with the recognition of schismatics in Ukraine by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew,” the official website of the diocese notes.

The parties also discussed the organization of pilgrimage trips.

As a memento, the archpastor presented the guest with an icon of St. Alexander Nevsky and a photo album about his pilgrimages.
