The exarch of the ROC in Africa: Shelters in Kenya lost financing because the priests did not accept the “OCU”

Metropolitan Leonid, Patriarchal Exarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa, said that orphanages organized by priests who opposed the OCU lost financing. In his Telegram channel, Bishop Leonid wrote:

“Now I will tell you about love. So it goes. After the priests who maintain the shelters spoke out against the schism and the recognition the “ocu” of Patriarch Theodore and their local bishop, they cut off ALL help…”.

It is also reported that a missionary group led by Priest George Maximov visited three churches in the Kisii region (Western Kenya) and two Orthodox shelters established by priests Theodore Ouru and Germogen Otara.

The hierarch said that in both shelters they use deep wells and draw water by hand, which is difficult to provide several dozen children with water. “I think an electric pump will help here.”

He wrote, “the sleeping places of children, of course, are far from ideal.” “But for starters, we need at least a distribution by age and gender. One more room is a need. Let’s try to cope.”
