The former community of the Russian Orthodox Church in Latvia was accepted into the jurisdiction of the Boston Synod of the TOC

Chairman of the Boston Synod of the True Orthodox Church (Holy Orthodox Church in North America – HOCNA) Grigory Babunashvili and the “bishop” of St. Petersburg Spyridon, a member of this Synod, accepted on January 19, 2022 the community of Orthodox Christians in Latvia into the jurisdiction of HOCNA. It is reported by Credo.Press.

Previously, this community was in the Moscow Patriarchate, but was not baptized when admitted to the Russian Orthodox Church from Lutheranism.

The hierarchs and members of the community decided to dedicate it to St. Mark Eugenikus, Metropolitan of Ephesus, whose name also bears the Cathedral of the Boston Synod in Boston, Massachusetts.

The day before, Grigory Babunashvili completed his 10-day visit to the Russian parishes of the Boston Synod of the TOC, during which he visited St. Petersburg and Kursk.

Earlier it was reported that the former parishioners of the ROC created a parish of the AS ROAC in Moldova.
