In Lviv, the traditional consecration of water was canceled

In Lviv, the traditional Epiphany consecration of water on January 19 was canceled due to the spread of the coronavirus disease Covid-19. This was reported in the press service of the Lviv City Council, writes “VESTI”.

“Given the increase in the dynamics of the incidence of Covid-19, the traditional blessing of water will not take place this year in order to avoid large crowds of people,” the message says.

It is reported that priests of different faiths will bless the water on Rynok Square on the morning of January 19th. Bishop of the Ukrainian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Markos Hovhannisyan will lead the service. And from 11:00, everyone will be able to draw consecrated water from the tank, which will contain about 1,500 liters of water.
