The Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Porfiry, said that he would not change his position on the “Ukrainian church issue,” the SOC website reports.
“Our attitude to the church problem in Ukraine is well known to everyone, <…>. I will only say that, despite the amazing ease with which the Patriarchate of Constantinople neglected the holy canons, ecclesiology, the centuries-old structure of the Orthodox Church, Holy Tradition, we, <…>, pray that that day will come, and as soon as possible, when the heterodox will be rejected anti-church influences and an extra-church project, which, as far as I can see, has not brought anything good to anyone in Ukraine,” he said.
“We will not change our attitude. We provide and will continue to provide strong support to Metropolitan Onufry and his Church,” he added.
