The communiqué of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, which took place on January 11, expressed “fraternal solidarity” with the Alexandrian Patriarchate. The synod promised “to do everything in its power to restore canonical order on the African continent,” Romfea reports.
The Synod “discussed the anti-canonical invasion of the Russian Church into the jurisdiction of the ancient Alexandrian Patriarchate, and expressed fraternal solidarity to the Church of Constantinople, leaving it with the right to do everything in its power to restore canonical order on the African continent,” the communiqué said.
