Clerics who had joined the African Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church received warning letters from the Alexandrian Patriarchate. Copies of the documents were published by the Facebook user Sergey Kiselev. He explained that such a letter was received by a priest from Kenya, Eliakim Kulali.

The address from the diocese of Kisumu and all of Western Kenya speaks, in particular, of the prospect for these clerics to lose their priesthood.

“This just confirms that the priests are real, not banned and not old calendarists, although if there were any, I don’t see this as a problem, schisms need to be healed,” said Sergei Kiselev.

The text also says that in the coming days the Synod of the Bishops of the Alexandrian Church will be convened, where the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on the creation of a Patriarchal Exarchate in Africa will be considered.
