In Ukraine, a fine will be introduced for indicating religious beliefs in vacancies

From January 8, 2022, employers who, during the search for an employee, indicate the requirements for the worker’s religion, will be fined in accordance with Art. 24 – 1 of the Law of Ukraine on Advertising for 65 thousand UAH. Reported by the RP.

If a church or religious organization identifies a worker’s religious affiliation in an employee search ad, it may also be fined.

“It is forbidden in advertisements for vacancies (recruitment) to indicate the age of candidates, to offer work only to women or only to men, with the exception of specific work that can only be performed by persons of a certain gender, to put forward demands <…> regarding political, religious and other beliefs , membership in trade unions or other associations of citizens, ethnic and social origin, property status, place of residence, linguistic or other characteristics, “the document says.

The right to impose a fine is due to the State Labor Committee based on the results of the audit.
