Exarch Phanara: It doesn’t matter what calendar you celebrate Christmas

Exarch of the Patriarch of Constantinople, Bishop Michael of Coman, on December 25, in his sermon, urged not to pay attention to external things, such as calendars, when celebrating Christmas, writes RP.

“We must always understand the essence. Not outer packaging, not calendars, not anything else. The very essence. Christ was born. God came to this world to man, in order to become him, to sanctify him, to save him, but we argue through calendars and other unimportant things, “the exarch said during the sermon.

Bishop Michael of Coman urged us to remember that no matter what calendar we celebrate Christmas, the main thing is what kind of fruit this event leaves in our hearts.

“Not only Christmas, but all the other holidays of the Church, everything that we celebrate in the Church is a question for us. Do we experience it simply as a set of some external liturgical forms, does it really have a response in our life and accordingly affect our life with you “, – summed up the exarch of Phanar.
