On Athos looking for a missing monk

A 58-year-old monk has gone missing in the seaside region of Mount Athos. On December 20, the man did not return from fishing in Singitiko Bay, about which the monastery authorities informed the police and the coast guard. This is reported by Orthodox life.

The search for the missing person began on December 22 and has been underway for the third day by two coast guard ships and two private boats.

All boats located in the search area have been informed about the incident. The ground forces were involved in the operation.

North winds blow in the area with a force of up to 4 on the Beaufort scale.

The name of the disappeared and the name of the monastery are not reported.
