Hieromonk of the UGCC Justin (Boyko) believes that the transition to the Gregorian style will cause the transfer of believers to the UOC, writes velychlviv.com.

He recalled that this had already happened when the parishes of the UGCC in Italy switched to a new style – a significant part of the believers moved to Orthodox parishes.

“Are the people ready for this? I will tell you that the people are absolutely not ready for this … I will tell you right away that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP) is not yet ready to switch to the Gregorian calendar. And what will happen? Some people will go to them. I want to confirm this by the fact in Italy that our people, who did not participate in the holidays according to the Julian calendar, went to the Orthodox and celebrate there, ”said the cleric of the UGCC.

As a reminder, from September 1, 2021, all communities of the exarchate of the UGCC in Italy have switched to the Gregorian calendar, according to the Information Department of the UGCC.
