The law on renaming the UOC hinders the full-fledged activity of religious organizations of the largest confession of Ukraine – the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was stated at a briefing on the occasion of a round table on the topic “Three years of attempts to forcibly rename the Ukrainian Orthodox Church: consequences, assessments, comments” by the Deputy Head of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, writes Thomas in Ukraine.

“He (Law No. 2662-VIII, – ed.) Is manipulative, propagandistic. The name that our Church is called today – the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine – is an absolutely invented construct, since there is no such phrase in any of the canonical and legal documents of either Ukraine or Russia, ”said the UOC speaker.
