The head of the OCU “Metropolitan” Epiphany convinces that the Georgian Church does not recognize the OCU because of blackmail from Russia. He told about this in his Saturday interview to Radio Liberty.

According to him, “there is influence there, as we understand and know, of the Russian Federation, there is blackmail of the Georgian Church – if they recognize Ukrainian autocephaly, then they will finally take Abkhazia from them, that is, part of the occupied territory now. And that is why there is such a hesitation.”

Nevertheless, in his opinion, not only the Georgian, but also other Churches will later join the process of recognizing the Phanar`s project in Ukraine.

“That time will certainly come. Only three years have passed. This is a very short timeframe, as we know from church history. We are talking about a thousand-year history, about ancient roots. And a lot has been done in these three years. And other churches will certainly join this process in the future. Because the truth always wins,” said Dumenko.

As previously reported, the Georgian Patriarch thanked the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church for the fact that, despite his politics, he defends the borders of the Georgian Church in accordance with the church canons. Also, Georgian schismatics appeal to the Phanar.
